The Vanderbeekers and the Hidden Garden
By Karina Yan Glaser
Summary: With Isa away at a sleepaway orchestra camp, Jessie, Oliver, Hyacinth, and Laney are bored and a little tired of each other. But when catastrophe befalls their upstairs neighbor, the Vanderbeeker’s laid back summer turns into one of anxiety. As the kids seek to help their neighbor, they discover an empty lot beside the church. A plan to make it into the best community garden in Harlem formed in their minds, and they set out to make a beautiful garden to comfort their recovering neighbor.
My Review: This book was really good! Unlike some series, this book is just as good as the first! I do miss Isa, I don’t know why the author didn’t include her in most of the book, but the other Vanderbeekers are just as funny and sweet as ever! I recommend for ages 11+.
