Sherlock Lupin and Me: The Dark Lady

by Alessandro Gatti

Summary: When Irene Adler goes on vacation, she doesn’t expect to become close friends with Sherlock Holames and Arsene Lupin. But their fun adventures are cut short when a dead body washes up on a nearby beach. These three decide to test their solving skills and work together to solve this mystery.

My Review: This book is amazing!! I love that you get to see a young Sherlock Holmes. The author makes him much easier to connect with and understand. Arsene Lupin is another detective character, but he was a thief turned detective. The mystery is great, and the characters have their old traits, but the author explores their personalities and backstories a little more than in the original books.

My Takeaway: This is a story of found friendship and is a delightful story of young Sherlock Holmes doing what he does best, this time with help from his friends. Parents might want to be aware that there are some intense, slightly dark scenes that might frighten younger readers.
