Summary: Emmy’s mom is too busy with her career to parent, and her father disappeared on her third birthday. So Emmy is sent to Wellsworth, an old boarding school in England. When Emmy begins receiving mysterious letters about her father, she wonders if there was more to him than she realizes. Along with the discovery of a box of mysterious medallions in her attic, she begins to see the symbols from the medallions scratched into the walls at Wellsworth. With help from her new friends, Jack and Lola, Emmy is determined to find out what happened to her father, and how he was connected to a dangerous secret society started at the school.
My Review: I really enjoyed this book! I loved all the characters, and it was a good mystery with lots of surprises. I liked that there was action sprinkled throughout the story, and the characters were lovable and relatable.
My Takeaway: This book is a story of found family, taking place in a cozy English boarding school. Parents might want to be aware that there are some darker themes surrounding the secret society, such as people being hurt if trying to leave.
