My Review: This book is wonderful, not only because the story and characters are lively and engrossing, but because it honestly portrays the struggles teenage girls face as they attempt to grow into women who are pleasing to the Lord.
My Takeaway: This book is a beautiful story of the hardships a family faces, and girls working to grow into godly women. Parent’s might want to be aware that there are mentions of the Civil War in this book and an incident of death.
Romance: Mild, romantic thoughts, one kiss, marriage.

Language: Very little if any.
Alcohol/drugs/smoking: smoking pipes, mentions of light drinking.
Violence: Very light, mentions of Civil War.
