My Review: I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!! This book is very lighthearted, until the end, when it does get a little dark. This book is funny, and you will fall in love with Hogwarts and it’s inhabitants. The plot has wonderful twists, and there are many Christian themes throughout the whole series. This book has a certain coziness to it that makes you want to read it over and over again!

My Takeaway: This book is full of funny moments, endearing characters, and a magical world. Parents might want to be aware that this story does have magic and witchcraft in it, including what they call “The Dark Arts”, or darker magic. However, the majority of this book is focused around the “good” magic.

Romance: None.

Nudity: None.

Language: There is some “Bloody H*lls” scattered throughout, and some other fake swearing such as “Merlin’s pants!”

Alcohol/drugs/smoking: One character is mentioned having been drunk, and there is light smoking.

Violence: Mild. The violence comes in more towards the end, with some magic fights.

Darkness: Mild, there is dark magic, and some darker themes, ideas, and images towards the end

Bad Messages: None.

Good Messages: The power of friendship, and the fight against evil.
